Local architect John Nuttall provided a design for the park, and Hall Leys Park was officially opened on 23 June 1911 to celebrate the Coronation of King George V. 

Welcome to the Matlock Summer Food & Drink Festival. This festival is all about celebrating amazing food and drink. We're excited to bring you the very best vendors, all of which are passionate about quality ingredients and delicious flavors. As well as tasty treats, we have live music, craft stalls, and activities for kids. The festival is free to enter, so come along and join the fun! We look forward to seeing you there.

Directions

There are numerous entrances to the park from Causeway Lane (A615) and opposite the roundabout on the Snitterton Road (A6) interchange with Causeway Lane (A615). There is a convenient entrance to the park via a bridge across the River Derwent from Olde Derwent Avenue.

FAQs

 

Q: Are dogs allowed into the festival?

A: Well behaved dogs on a lead are more than welcome at this festival and there are some doggy stalls for them too.

Q: Is there disabled access?

A: Yes Hall Leys Park has well surfaced paths and plenty of benches and there are Disabled toilets. Please note the Festival is held on the large event field but is easily accessible.

Q: Do the stalls accept debit / credit card?

A: Many but not all stall holders provide card facilities for customers and this is something most stall holders will be looking at for the future.

Q: How many stalls are there?

A: The number of stalls can vary but is usually between 50 and 80. We like to offer a wide variety so you can expect various food & drink stalls, bars, street food vendors and gift & craft stalls.

Q: Where do I park?

A: Parking can be found at the many pay and display car parks around town. We will post a list on our social media nearer the time to ensure it is up to date.
